குடலராஜா -1

Boston.  Down Town-ல் கடல் view  தெரியும்படியான மிகவும் பிரசித்திபெற்ற Sea Food Restaurant-ல் ஒரு வருடத்திற்கு முன்பு எங்கள் office-ன் Sales Team Manager  மற்றும் இதர Co-Workers வுடன் அமர்ந்து சாப்பிட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தேன். எல்லோரும் Oyster-யும் Lobster-யும் நொறுக்கிகொண்டிருக்க நான் வழக்கம் போல Salad- ஐ வேண்டா வெறுப்பாக கிளறிக்கொண்டிருந்தேன். 

"  I think it's end of  2002.. that time I was in the product installation team .. " 

 Sales Team மேனேஜர் பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்,  எப்போதும் போல வேறு யாரையம் பேச விடாமல் அவரே பேசிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். எல்லோரும் அவர் பேசுவதை வேறு சுவாரசியமாக கேட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். நான் excuse கேட்டுவிட்டு restroom-க்கு சென்றேன். வழியில் மனைவிக்கு phone  செய்து நாளை மதியம் வந்து விடுவேன் என்றும் கட்டாயம்  காரசாரமாக புளிக் குழம்பும், ரசமும் செய்து வைக்கும்படியும் அன்புக் கட்டளையிட்டேன். திரும்பி வந்து மறுபடியும் Salad- ஐ கிளற ஆரம்பித்தேன். Sales Team Manager இன்னும் பேசிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்.

"It really helped me lot when I was there, that's why first thing the client did was ... sent me for a training, I am already familiar with sigma 9 mm. But they want to make sure that I can handle any situation.." 

சரி, வழக்கம் போல இந்த Sigma, ISO போன்ற certification சமாச்சரங்களை பத்தி பேசிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார் என்று கேட்க ஆரம்பித்தேன். 

" this was my 3rd or 4th trip there.. came out of the Airport,  got into the Taxi  and told  my hotel address. I was watching outside and the driver was going in different route.. He called somebody in radio and asked them to wait. Though he was talking in Spanish, I understood what he was talking in radio.. Immediately I took my GUN, the SIGMA 9mm and put it on his head and asked him to go back to Air Port. No other option he turned the car back to Airport.. till reaching Airport I was pointing the GUN  in his head. Once reached the Airport  I said F......  and  got out of the Taxi."

 சுள்ளென்று பச்சை மிளகாயை கடித்தது போலிருந்தது. 

" What..!! Where? Which place this happened? " - இது நான்.

"MEXICO.."  என்று பதில் வந்தது. 

மறு நாள் வீட்டிற்கு வந்து புளிக் குழம்பும், ரசமும் திவ்வயமாக சாப்பிட்டேன். கூடுதலாக என் மனைவி எனக்காக பருப்பு துவையலும் செய்திருந்தாள். சரியாக நான்கு மாதங்கள் கழித்து என் மேனேஜர் phone பன்னினார். ஒரு high profile project கிடைத்திருப்பதாகவும் என்னையும் Steve-யும் அதற்கு assign  பண்ணி இருப்பதாகவும் கூறினார். Project எந்த ஊரில் என்று கேட்டேன் 

"MEXICO.."  என்று பதில் வந்தது.
